Necrophos + Night Stalker

Why this works

Setting up a Reaper's Scythe is much simpler when the target is silenced by Crippling Fear. Night Stalker can pin someone down, preventing them from using defensive items or mobility spells to survive. This gives Necrophos a clean window to apply damage with Death Pulse and Heartstopper Aura until the enemy is low enough for his ultimate. The combination of a long-duration silence and a slow means the victim can't fight back or escape, leaving them helpless as their health ticks away. It's a very reliable way to secure kills on otherwise slippery heroes.

This duo excels at picking off isolated targets, particularly once the first night hits. Night Stalker roams aggressively to find a gank, and Necrophos follows up to ensure the kill and benefit from the sustained regeneration. The constant threat forces opponents to play defensively and group together, which surrenders map control and farm. To counter this, enemies need to force fights during the day when Night Stalker is weaker and try to punish Necrophos for his poor mobility. If they can't establish a lead before the nights get longer, the game becomes incredibly difficult.
