Necrophos + Phoenix

Why this works

Drafting these two together creates a straightforward plan for teamfights. When Phoenix uses Supernova, opponents are forced to either attack the egg or retreat. This plays directly into what Necrophos wants. Anyone trying to kill the egg is stuck inside Heartstopper Aura, taking steady damage and getting softened up. Necrophos can also use Death Pulse to heal the Supernova, making it much harder for the enemy to prevent the stun. The area control and sustained damage from both heroes complement each other well, creating a zone where enemies take damage no matter what they do.

This combination usually comes online in the mid-game. Phoenix finds an opening to dive, and the fight becomes centered on the egg. If opponents lack the specific heroes or items to break it quickly, they get stunned and become easy targets for Necrophos to clean up with Reaper's Scythe. The advantage is only slight because the strategy is predictable. A coordinated team can focus fire the egg before the stun, or disengage from the fight entirely. The success of the pairing often depends on whether the enemy lineup has a direct answer to a big Supernova.
