Night Stalker + Ursa

Why this works

Ganking a lone hero at night should feel like a sure thing for this pair, but their skills overlap more than they combine. Night Stalker provides a strong silence and vision control, while Ursa brings overwhelming single-target damage. The problem is that they're both trying to do the same job. Ursa needs to stick to a target to build Fury Swipes, and Night Stalker's control isn't quite the hard lockdown that enables that reliably. They end up as two heroes running at the same person, rather than one setting up the other for a perfect kill.

This similarity forces the team into a very specific, predictable game plan centered around pickoffs. If the initial ganks don't secure a big lead, the draft starts to show its weaknesses. Enemies can counter by grouping up and buying simple defensive items like a Force Staff or Ghost Scepter to survive the initial jump. When it comes time to break high ground, having two melee cores who are vulnerable to kiting and lack area control makes sieging a real struggle against a coordinated defense. The game plan is powerful if it works, but fragile if it doesn't.
