Nyx Assassin + Pangolier

Why this works

Setting up a good Rolling Thunder is often the hardest part of playing Pangolier, but Nyx Assassin’s Impale from Vendetta provides a perfect opener. The long stun gives Pangolier plenty of time to get his ultimate started on a key target. The reverse is also true; a target stunned by Rolling Thunder becomes an easy victim for Nyx’s full combo. This lock-down potential is the core of their partnership, allowing them to isolate and eliminate heroes before a fight properly begins. Spiked Carapace can also punish anyone trying to stun Pangolier out of his roll.

Together, these two heroes want to create chaos and find pickoffs during the mid-game. Their success depends heavily on coordination, however. A mistimed Rolling Thunder can knock an enemy away from Nyx Assassin, and a missed Impale can ruin a gank attempt. The lane setup can also be awkward if they both want the same farm priority. While their combined control is strong, they can struggle to close out games against durable lineups if they don't secure an early advantage through their ganking prowess.
