Nyx Assassin + Phantom Assassin

Why this works

Pairing two single-target assassins might seem redundant, but the combination works because of how reliably Nyx Assassin can set up kills. Vendetta lets him walk right up to a hero to land a guaranteed Impale, giving Phantom Assassin a perfect window to jump in with Phantom Strike. It's a simple, effective gank that doesn't rely on big ultimates or complicated spell combinations. Against slippery targets, Nyx's Mana Burn can even remove their escape spell from the equation before they know they're in danger, making the kill all but certain.

This duo forces the enemy team to play scared. Any hero farming or warding alone is a potential kill for Phantom Assassin, which accelerates her item progression and creates map control. The opponent’s only real answer is to group up constantly, which can slow down their own farm. Later in the game, Nyx Assassin can use Spiked Carapace defensively, sitting near his carry to instantly stun an enemy who tries to initiate on her. This provides a layer of protection that allows PA to get her damage off in chaotic teamfights.
