Nyx Assassin + Queen of Pain

Why this works

Setting up a kill with Vendetta lets Nyx Assassin find an isolated target and land a guaranteed Impale. This lockdown is the perfect opening for Queen of Pain to follow up, blinking in to unload a full Scream of Pain and Sonic Wave combo before the stun wears off. The initial burst from the two heroes is often enough to delete a single enemy core from the map without any chance of retaliation. Nyx provides the reliable setup and scouting, while QoP provides the mobility and massive area-of-effect magical damage to finish the job.

This pairing is heavily reliant on securing those early pick-offs to snowball. If the ganks are successful, they can take over the map. However, if they fall behind, both heroes can feel underwhelming as neither one farms particularly fast. The duo also shares a critical weakness: their damage is almost entirely magical. Opponents who rush items that grant magic immunity or resistance can effectively counter the entire game plan of both Nyx Assassin and Queen of Pain at the same time, turning their coordinated burst into a non-threat and leaving them with very little impact in mid-game teamfights.
