Nyx Assassin + Riki

Why this works

Picking both Nyx Assassin and Riki is a heavy commitment to a gank-heavy, single-target style of play. The synergy comes from their ability to find and control a target from stealth. Riki can initiate with Smoke Screen to apply a silence and slow, which makes it much easier for Nyx Assassin to follow up with a guaranteed Impale and his burst damage combo. With both heroes attacking from invisibility, it's difficult for an isolated enemy to react in time before the initial lockdown and damage lands. They excel at punishing heroes who are out of position.

This duo makes the map incredibly dangerous for enemy supports and lone cores during the mid-game. However, their game plan is very focused and has clear counters. A smart opponent will group as five and invest heavily in Dust of Appearance and Sentry Wards, limiting the windows for Riki and Nyx to find kills. Because both heroes fill a similar roaming role, the draft can lack sustained teamfight damage or tower push. If their ganks don't translate into a lead, the enemy team can force fights and take objectives while this pair struggles to find an opening.
