Nyx Assassin + Windranger

Why this works

Setting up a kill for Windranger becomes much more reliable when a Nyx Assassin is on the team. His Impale provides an easy, predictable stun that removes the guesswork from landing a good Shackleshot. This turns a conditional disable into a consistent one, locking a target down for a long time. The combined burst damage is also notable. A Vendetta strike from Nyx Assassin into the stun chain, followed by a Powershot from Windranger, is often enough to eliminate a support before they can even use their items or spells.

The whole game plan revolves around finding these pickoffs in the mid-game. Nyx can scout invisibly, find a target that's out of position, and set up the kill for Windranger to finish. This can create a lot of pressure and open up the map. The downside is that this duo focuses heavily on single targets. If the enemy team adjusts by sticking together, it becomes very difficult to find opportunities. The success of this pairing really depends on executing those ganks early, because they don't offer much of a cohesive plan for five-on-five teamfights if they fall behind.
