Ogre Magi + Windranger

Why this works

Setting up a pick-off is where this pair has some potential. Ogre Magi's reliable Fireblast stun can give Windranger the perfect angle for a follow-up Shackleshot. Bloodlust also gives Windranger a welcome boost to her Focus Fire attack speed. The issue is that both heroes are dedicated to bursting down a single hero. When it comes to dealing with a creep wave or multiple enemies at once, they can feel limited. Windranger's Powershot can clear waves, but Ogre Magi offers no help, meaning the duo as a whole can be slow to apply pressure across the map.

This one-dimensional approach plays out clearly across the game. Early ganks and skirmishes can go well, with them chaining their lockdown to secure kills. The trouble starts when enemies group up and play defensively. If Ogre and Windranger can't get that initial kill, their impact in a full teamfight drops off. Teams with strong area-of-effect damage or better wave clear can eventually choke them out, pinning them in their base and making it impossible to find the solo targets they need to be effective.
