Pangolier + Slark

Why this works

Setting up a kill for Slark often relies on locking one hero down for him to build Essence Shift stacks. While Pangolier is great at causing chaos, his ultimate doesn't always help with this goal. Rolling Thunder can be disruptive, but it often knocks targets around uncontrollably. This can easily push an enemy out of Slark's reach or even break a Pounce leash, forcing Slark to chase a target he nearly had secured. Both heroes want to dive into the fight, but their core abilities can sometimes work against each other's immediate objectives.

This pairing relies heavily on how Pangolier uses his spells. A well-placed Roll can pin a key hero against a wall for Slark to tear apart. A poorly aimed one can feel like it's saving the enemy team. Because their combo potential is so conditional, they often end up fighting as two separate individuals rather than a cohesive unit. They don't necessarily step on each other's toes, but they lack the clean synergy that defines stronger duos, leaving fights to be decided by individual skill more than coordinated spellcasting.
