Pangolier + Warlock

Why this works

Setting up for a teamfight with this pair can feel a little awkward. Pangolier wants to cause chaos with Rolling Thunder, bouncing off enemies and scattering their formation. The problem is that Warlock's biggest spells, Fatal Bonds and Chaotic Offering, are most effective on enemies that are grouped up. When Pangolier rolls through, he can knock priority targets out of the stun radius for Warlock's Golem, or spread the fight out so much that it's hard to focus down the heroes affected by Fatal Bonds. The disruption from one hero directly complicates the setup for the other.

This tension means their teamfights often lack a clean, decisive moment. Instead of a big Golem stun leading the charge, Warlock may have to hold his ultimate, waiting for an opportunity that Pangolier's initiation style doesn't provide. The result is often a scrappy, prolonged engagement rather than a clean wipe. Both heroes still contribute to the fight, of course, but their core abilities don't line up to create the powerful combination you'd see with a more traditional initiator. The fight becomes messy, which isn't where a Warlock lineup typically thrives.
