Phoenix + Sand King

Why this works

Combining Epicenter and Supernova can theoretically win a fight on its own. Phoenix can dive in to drop the egg, creating a target that Sand King can Blink next to and channel his ultimate. The issue is that both heroes are very vulnerable during this setup. A single well-timed stun on Sand King cancels his Epicenter, and a silence can prevent Phoenix from even casting Supernova. This makes the whole sequence fragile, relying on the enemy team lacking the specific tools or coordination to interrupt before the combo lands.

In practice, this pairing's success often hinges on catching the enemy off guard. If they can find a fight where key enemy disables are on cooldown, the combination can feel strong. However, aware opponents will play around it. They’ll spread out to minimize Epicenter's impact and save stuns for Sand King, or simply focus all their damage on the Supernova egg. This often forces Phoenix and Sand King to use their abilities independently—Sand King looking for Burrowstrike setups while Phoenix provides damage from a safe distance—which is fine, but doesn't create a special advantage.
