Phoenix + Undying

Why this works

Trying to manage a big teamfight against this pair can be tricky for the enemy team. Both Undying and Phoenix want to create a big, messy brawl where they can drop their ultimates. A well-placed Tombstone and Supernova create two must-kill targets at the same time. This can split the focus of the enemy cores, making it more likely that either the zombies overwhelm them, Phoenix completes the rebirth, or both. Even their basic spells add to the chaos, with slows and damage-over-time making it hard to move and choose a target.

This dynamic really comes together during mid-game fights for towers or Roshan. A successful double ultimate from Undying and Phoenix can secure the objective, even from an even game state. However, the combo relies on the enemy team committing to the fight. A disciplined opponent will try to poke from a distance, disengage when the ultimates are used, or try to pick one hero off before the other can react. The long cooldowns also mean you can't do this every fight, so timing is everything. It's a good setup, but it isn't foolproof.
