Why this works

Dropping a Supernova in the middle of a Chaotic Offering is a classic teamfight combo. Warlock's initial stun can create the space for Phoenix to commit, and the summoned Golem provides a massive, distracting threat. This often forces opponents to choose between hitting the Golem or focusing the Supernova egg, buying crucial time for it to hatch. Fatal Bonds adds another layer to this, causing damage from the Golem's constant burn and Phoenix's spells to spread through the enemy team, softening everyone up even if they aren't the primary target.

The game plan for this pair revolves around waiting for these two long-cooldown ultimates and then forcing a fight. The advantage is conditional because the enemy team can play around these timings, splitting the map or taking smaller skirmishes. Items that mitigate magic damage also reduce the combo's impact, and heroes with high physical burst can still sometimes destroy the egg before Warlock's Golem causes enough chaos. The success of Phoenix and Warlock together often comes down to landing this combination in a decisive fight, which isn't always possible.
