Primal Beast + Venomancer

Why this works

Pairing a heavy initiator with a damage-over-time hero can create a clash in fight pacing. Primal Beast wants to find a target, charge in with Onslaught, and kill them immediately inside Pulverize. He needs allies who can add burst damage during that short window to secure the kill. Venomancer, on the other hand, excels in longer, drawn-out engagements where his abilities can tick away at the enemy's health. The damage from Poison Nova and his other spells often comes too late to help a committed Primal Beast survive after he dives deep.

This timing mismatch defines their mid-game fights. Primal Beast will often secure an initiation onto a key hero, but the lack of immediate follow-up damage or hard stuns means the target might survive the initial burst. While the enemy team is covered in poison, they are still free to turn and focus down the Beast who is now isolated and out of position. For this pairing to work, other heroes on the team need to provide the lockdown or burst that Venomancer lacks, otherwise Primal Beast is often left on an island after he goes in.
