How Puck and Sand King perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Puck and Sand King win 44.42% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 4,987 matches.
Setting up for a mid-game fight, both Puck and Sand King are often looking for the same opening. This can create a conflict over who initiates the jump from the fog. Both heroes want to land on multiple enemies, but their abilities don't build on each other in a powerful way. A Burrowstrike into a Puck combo is fine, but it’s not a special interaction. The bigger issue is that their damage is almost entirely magical. Once the enemy team buys magic resistance, both Puck and Sand King find it very difficult to secure kills. They end up with redundant roles and a shared, easily countered damage profile, making it tough to execute a cohesive game plan.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
