Puck + Silencer

Why this works

Lining up a Global Silence for Puck's combo seems strong, but the follow-up can be awkward. Both heroes primarily deal magical damage. While Silencer’s ultimate sets up a clean Dream Coil, the target is often able to survive the initial burst. Once enemy cores get a Black King Bar or the team builds a Pipe of Insight, the effectiveness of this one-two punch drops off significantly. The control is there, but the damage type is too predictable and easy to counter with a couple of key items.

This pairing often relies on dominating the early and mid-game before those defensive items come online. If Puck or Silencer has a bad start, they don't do a great job of creating space for each other to recover. In later teamfights, they can both drop their ultimates and control the fight for a few seconds, but they lack the sustained physical damage or lockdown to clean up tanky heroes. This leaves them vulnerable to a counter-attack once their long cooldowns have been used.
