Pudge + Warlock

Why this works

Landing a good hook can create a perfect window for Warlock to deploy his full arsenal. A Dismembered target is completely helpless, guaranteeing that Warlock's Fatal Bonds and Chaotic Offering will land with maximum effect. The Golem's stun and subsequent attacks, combined with Pudge holding the enemy in place, can delete a single hero before a fight even begins. Rot also spreads its damage through Fatal Bonds, adding pressure to clumped-up enemies who might try to save the hooked target. This provides a straightforward way to secure a pick-off.

The problem is that this entire sequence depends on Pudge. If hooks are not connecting, Warlock is left without a clear setup for his spells. Their overall game plans can also diverge. Pudge often wants to roam and create constant pressure, while Warlock may prefer a more passive laning stage, waiting for a key teamfight to turn the tide. When their timings sync up, they can find an important kill, but when they don't, their efforts can feel disconnected, leading to inconsistent results.
