Pugna + Windranger

Why this works

Trying to combine their kill threat can feel awkward, as the pair's core abilities often work against each other. Pugna's Decrepify is a powerful tool for amplifying magic damage, but it completely negates the physical damage from Windranger's Focus Fire. This means they can't both unload on the same target at the same time. While Pugna can use Decrepify defensively to save an ally from physical attacks, the offensive clash is a real problem. They both want to be the one bursting a target, and their methods for doing so are fundamentally incompatible.

This forces a clumsy sequence to get kills. Windranger needs to land her Shackleshot, and Pugna can follow up with his magic damage, but then everyone has to wait for Decrepify to end before Focus Fire can be effective. This delay gives enemies a window to escape or receive help. In larger fights, Pugna and Windranger often end up attacking different targets, which spreads out their damage instead of focusing it. They don't enable each other in the way a core and a support usually want to, leading to missed opportunities and less pressure than you might expect.
