Queen of Pain + Riki

Why this works

Setting up a kill inside Smoke Screen gives Queen of Pain a great window to land her full magical burst. Riki’s silence and slow field holds a target in place, letting her easily land Scream of Pain and follow up with Sonic Wave. Both heroes have blinks, so they can get on top of almost any target they choose to hunt. The main issue is that neither of them brings a hard stun. If the initial damage isn't enough for an instant kill, a target with a Force Staff or a defensive ability can often survive and escape once they're able to act.

This makes their game plan very momentum-dependent. They can be effective at finding pickoffs together, but things get complicated when enemies group up. Both Queen of Pain and Riki are squishy heroes who prefer to jump on targets from the side, not initiate a head-on fight. Without a durable frontliner to soak up spells and create space, they can struggle to find a safe entry point. They both want to be the follow-up damage, which can lead to disorganized teamfights where no one makes the first move.
