Queen of Pain + Techies

Why this works

Setting up a kill on a lone hero can feel straightforward. Queen of Pain can Blink aggressively and apply her slow, creating a perfect window for Techies to land a Sticky Bomb or a full-duration Blast Off! silence. The combined magical burst is often enough to secure a pick-off before the enemy can react. This works especially well when transitioning from the lane into the midgame, as both heroes can rotate together to pressure a tower and use their combined damage to punish any defenders who walk into their kill zone.

The partnership can become awkward because their overall strategies don't always align. Queen of Pain is built to hunt and force fights across the map, using her mobility to set the tempo. Techies often finds more value in establishing control over a specific area, laying mines and daring the enemy to walk into a prepared defense. This can leave the two heroes operating on different pages; QoP might initiate a fight far from Techies’s prepared traps, or the team’s proactive movements might make Techies's defensive setup irrelevant.
