Clockwerk + Windranger

Why this works

Pairing Clockwerk's initiation with Windranger's follow-up can feel less effective than it appears on paper. The core issue lies in Clockwerk's Power Cogs. While they are great for trapping a target caught by Hookshot, the cogs themselves create a physical barrier that can easily block the ideal line for a Shackleshot. The knockback from the cogs also pushes the trapped enemy around, making it surprisingly difficult for Windranger to land a fully channeled Powershot. Instead of a stationary target, she’s often aiming at a hero bouncing unpredictably within a small, enclosed space.

This awkwardness plays out in ganks and teamfights. A simple Hookshot into Battery Assault might create a kill opportunity, but if Clockwerk feels the need to use Cogs for security, Windranger's contribution becomes less reliable. The opposing team learns to position away from trees and creeps when Clockwerk is nearby, further denying good Shackleshot angles. The result is a combination that requires a lot of coordination to avoid interfering with each other. The potential for a clean kill is there, but it often fails to materialize, leaving one of the heroes unable to contribute their full damage.
