Riki + Ursa

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together creates a pair of single-target physical threats. Both Riki and Ursa want to be the one jumping in to deliver a quick burst, so they're often competing for the same role in a fight. Riki’s Smoke Screen is a definite help, as the silence and miss chance can give Ursa a clean window to stack Fury Swipes without being disabled. The main problem is that they're both greedy, farm-dependent melee cores. They don't solve each other's core problems, like dealing with grouped-up enemies or needing a way to disengage.

The game plan becomes very straightforward: find pickoffs. An early gank using Smoke Screen to set up Ursa's Overpower can certainly snowball a lane. The issue arises when opponents start moving as a team. Lacking ranged stuns or broader teamfight control, both Riki and Ursa can struggle to connect with key backline heroes. A single Force Staff or Glimmer Cape can ruin their initiation, leaving them vulnerable in the middle of the fight. This makes converting their early kill potential into objectives a real challenge.
