Why this works

Setting up a perfect Shackleshot inside a Smoke Screen seems like a clear path to victory. The slow and silence from Riki's cloud make it incredibly simple for Windranger to land her stun, leading into a quick kill with Focus Fire. The problem is that this one combo is their entire plan. If Shackleshot misses its latch or the target has a way to survive the initial burst, both heroes are left exposed. They commit everything to deleting one hero, and when that fails, they have very little backup. Both are fragile and rely on getting the jump.

A successful game sees this pair roaming and creating pressure, securing early kills that allow them to snowball their items. Riki finds the targets, Windranger provides the lockdown, and they build a lead the enemy can't overcome. The other side of the coin is a team that groups up early and carries plenty of detection. Without isolated targets to pick off, Windranger and Riki struggle to contribute much in a full five-on-five teamfight. The game often hinges on whether their gank-heavy style can fracture the enemy before they can unite and fight back.
