How Shadow Demon and Venomancer perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Shadow Demon and Venomancer win 44.25% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 4,310 matches.
Facing down this pair is often less intimidating than it looks on paper. While the combined slows and damage-over-time can be a nuisance, the duo lacks reliable lockdown to secure kills. Any hero with a leap or blink can easily escape the poison and reset the fight. There's also a core conflict in their kits: Shadow Demon wants to use Disruption for setup or saves, but this removes a hero from the map, pausing all of Venomancer's poison ticks and wasting their potential. Both heroes are also quite fragile and immobile, making them easy targets for any coordinated aggression before their damage can accumulate.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
