Silencer + Techies

Why this works

Trying to navigate a teamfight against this duo feels like a trap. Techies provides the initial setup with a Sticky Bomb slow or the silence from Blast Off!, making it easy for Silencer to apply his own pressure. An enemy caught by this initiation is put in a terrible spot. If they try to use a spell to escape or fight back, they can trigger Last Word and extend the silence duration. If they hold their spells, Arcane Curse ticks away at them while they're slowed and vulnerable to attacks and mine explosions. It creates a choice where both options are bad.

This plays out as a battle for control. Techies litters the map with Proximity Mines, making pushes and rotations dangerous for the enemy team. Silencer complements this with the threat of Global Silence, which can punish an enemy that tries to force a fight away from the mined zones. A well-timed Global can force enemies to retreat through a minefield they were trying to avoid. The pairing's main weakness is a lack of hard lockdown, however. Enemies with strong dispels or an early BKB can often break the chain of silences and turn the fight, which keeps the advantage from becoming overwhelming.
