How Skywrath Mage and Templar Assassin perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Skywrath Mage and Templar Assassin win 46.82% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 25,726 matches.
Facing a gank from this pair often feels surprisingly survivable. Templar Assassin can slow enemies with her Psionic Traps and Skywrath Mage can add his own slow, but the duo lacks a reliable, instant stun to truly lock someone down. This gives opponents a crucial window to use a defensive item or a mobility spell to escape. A target that isn't immediately deleted by the initial burst from Meld can often simply walk out of Skywrath's Mystic Flare. Without a way to force an enemy to stand and fight, their combined damage potential is rarely focused on a single point, leaving both heroes feeling like they are fighting separate battles.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
