Skywrath Mage + Tiny

Why this works

Lining up a kill on a single target proves surprisingly difficult for this pair. Tiny's standard kill combo involves Avalanche and then tossing the enemy, which moves them. This displacement is a serious problem for Skywrath Mage, who needs the target to stay locked in place to land a full Mystic Flare. The stuns from Avalanche are also too short and sporadic to provide a reliable setup window on their own. Instead of their spells layering for an easy kill, they actively work against each other, often allowing a target to survive what should have been lethal damage.

This lack of reliable setup means their combined kill potential is much lower than it looks on paper. In a gank, Tiny will often have to choose between using his full damage combo and setting up for Skywrath, making one of them less effective. In larger teamfights, this coordination becomes even harder. The duo offers a lot of magic burst but very little sustained control or utility, so when their initial burst fails to connect properly, they don't have much else to contribute. Their kits overlap in what they want to do without providing the tools to do it together.
