Skywrath Mage + Vengeful Spirit

Why this works

Setting up a kill for Skywrath Mage is the main idea here. Vengeful Spirit provides a long, reliable stun with Magic Missile, which is exactly what Skywrath needs to land a full Mystic Flare combo without the target walking away. The setup is simple and effective from the first minutes of the game. It goes both ways, too. Skywrath's Ancient Seal makes the target take more magic damage, so Vengeful Spirit's own stun and nuke hit harder. Together they can delete a single hero very quickly if they get the jump.

In lane, this duo can be a real nightmare, constantly threatening kills with their combined lockdown and burst. The real challenge comes later when enemies start trying to focus the fragile Skywrath Mage. This is where Vengeful Spirit's Nether Swap becomes so important, acting as a get-out-of-jail-free card. A good swap can completely turn a gank around by saving Skywrath and putting an enemy out of position. The duo's weakness is their shared low health pool; if the enemy can initiate on both of them at once, they can fall apart.
