Slardar + Venomancer

Why this works

Stacking slows from Slardar and Venomancer looks good on paper, but their core goals in a fight don't align. Slardar is all about physical burst. He wants to apply Corrosive Haze to a single hero and delete them with stuns and right-clicks in a few seconds. Venomancer, on the other hand, excels at long, drawn-out fights where his magical damage-over-time spells can tick away at the entire enemy team. Slardar's armor reduction does little for Veno's primary damage output, and a target caught by Slithereen Crush is already an easy kill without Veno's help.

The result is that they often work at cross-purposes. While Slardar dives a backliner, Venomancer is usually more focused on slowing the enemy frontline with Plague Wards and landing a wide Poison Nova. This can split the team's focus and damage types, making it harder to secure kills quickly. Instead of one hero enabling the other to be more effective, they can feel like they're fighting two different battles at the same time. The enemy team can often survive the initial engage and then turn the fight once Slardar's lockdown ends.
