Slardar + Windranger

Why this works

Trying to burst down a single target is the main plan here. Slardar can find an opening with Guardian Sprint, land a Slithereen Crush, and immediately apply Corrosive Haze. This gives Windranger a clear setup to land Shackleshot, often stunning a second hero behind the primary target. Once an enemy is locked down and their armor is shredded, Windranger can melt them with Focus Fire. The combination of stun duration and heavy armor reduction creates a short but powerful window to eliminate a key enemy before a fight properly starts.

The problem is that this entire strategy hinges on finding isolated targets. If the enemy team groups up, Slardar's initiation can be risky, and Windranger might not have a safe angle for Focus Fire. Both heroes rely on getting a good start to hit their timings—Slardar's Blink Dagger and Windranger's damage items. If they fall behind, they can struggle to secure kills, and their general lack of strong wave clear can become a major issue. The combo is very all-in; if the initial burst fails or the wrong target is chosen, both heroes have used their most important spells and can be easily turned on.
