Techies + Terrorblade

Why this works

Securing a part of the map with Proximity Mines can give Terrorblade a safe haven to farm early on. Techies can effectively wall off an area, letting Terrorblade build up his items without constant fear of ganks. A well-timed Reactive Tazer on Terrorblade can also disarm anyone who manages to jump on him, buying crucial seconds for him to use Sunder or for help to arrive. The magic burst from Sticky Bomb and Blast Off! can help finish off targets that Terrorblade’s physical damage leaves behind, and the silence is a useful setup tool.

The problem is that these two heroes often want to play in different ways. Terrorblade uses illusions to push out lanes and farm aggressively across the map, moving far away from the static minefields Techies establishes. This means the protection offered by Techies is often left behind. While Techies creates passive map control, he lacks the active save or lockdown to consistently peel for a Terrorblade caught out of position. The pairing relies on the enemy team walking into Techies' plan, rather than the two heroes actively enabling each other during fights and pushes.
