Techies + Venomancer

Why this works

Facing this lane feels miserable since you’re constantly slowed and taking damage from every direction. The problem is that the damage types don't line up to secure kills. Venomancer is all about sustained damage over time, wearing down the whole enemy team with spells like Poison Nova. Techies, on the other hand, wants to instantly delete one person with a quick combo of Sticky Bomb and Blast Off!. Neither hero provides the hard stun needed to hold someone in place, so the kill target often gets away before either hero’s full damage applies.

In practice, this duo can apply a lot of pressure, but struggles to close things out. An enemy caught by both heroes might survive long enough to BKB, Force Staff away, or get a save from a teammate. While laning can be strong, the lack of reliable lockdown becomes a bigger problem as the game goes on. Opponents learn they can often walk away from a Venomancer ultimate and reset before Techies can capitalize. This forces the team to rely on other heroes for control, limiting what this pair can accomplish on its own.
