Treant Protector + Viper

Why this works

Layering crowd control with this pair can feel a little redundant. Treant Protector’s Overgrowth is great for holding someone in place, but a target hit by Viper Strike is already slowed to a crawl. The root doesn't add much lockdown on top of what Viper is already doing. Both heroes are good at neutralizing a single enemy, but their primary spells overlap in function rather than creating a new threat. Viper’s damage is gradual, not burst, so he doesn’t fully capitalize on the Overgrowth window the way a different core might.

Across the map, their game plan can feel disjointed. While a Viper with Living Armor is durable, the pair lacks a way to deal with multiple targets efficiently. They excel at ganking a lone hero, but struggle when fights get messy or the enemy team groups up early. Their combined single-target focus means they can be outmaneuvered by teams that spread out or have strong counter-initiation. It puts a lot of pressure on the rest of the team to provide the area-of-effect damage or broader control that this duo is missing.
