Undying + Windranger

Why this works

Drafting these two heroes together is a bit of a gamble on what kind of fight you're trying to take. The theory is that Undying’s Tombstone zombies offer easy targets for a Windranger to land a multi-hero Shackleshot. In reality, the chaos from the zombies can be unpredictable, sometimes blocking the perfect angle. While Undying’s Flesh Golem amplifies damage, it’s a slow and a general debuff in a wide area. Windranger would much rather have a single, reliable stun to set up her Focus Fire, and Undying doesn’t provide that specific kind of lockdown.

The laning stage can feel strong, with Decay weakening an opponent for Windranger to harass. As the game progresses, however, their goals can diverge. Undying wants to force a messy, prolonged brawl where his abilities get maximum value. Windranger prefers to play at the edge of the fight, looking for a clean pick-off on a key target before committing. If that perfect Shackle opportunity appears within the mayhem Undying creates, the combo works. If it doesn't, you end up with two heroes trying to execute two different plans in the same teamfight.
