Ursa + Viper

Why this works

Pairing these two feels like a simple plan to run one enemy down with overwhelming slows and damage. The issue is that stacking slows doesn't stop stuns, forced movement, or defensive items. Both Ursa and Viper want to be the frontline, single-target damage dealer, but neither brings the hard lockdown or area control the other needs to function in a real teamfight. They are two cores trying to do the same job. Viper’s Nethertoxin can be situationally helpful, but it doesn’t solve the fundamental problem that they don’t provide what the other is missing.

This lineup can pick off a lone hero, but struggles once teams start grouping. Enemies can easily split their focus, kiting Ursa while pressuring Viper, and neither has a good way to save the other. They also tend to want the same areas of the map to farm and apply pressure, leading to inefficient use of resources. Without strong initiation or control from the rest of their team, this duo often finds themselves unable to commit to fights or getting separated and focused down one by one.
