Ursa + Windranger

Why this works

A core lineup with both Ursa and Windranger often struggles because their roles overlap. They are both single-target physical damage dealers who want to hit similar timings and snowball off kills. This creates redundancy without providing the tools to solve common problems. Ursa needs reliable setup to connect with enemies, and Windranger’s Shackleshot alone is often not enough. In turn, neither hero offers the large-scale teamfight control or area damage that would enable the other to thrive in chaotic fights. They essentially do the same job, leaving the draft with significant gaps.

This forces them to compete for the same farm on the map, delaying critical items for at least one core. If they can’t secure an early lead together, the team lacks the wave clear to defend high ground effectively. Enemy teams often exploit this by grouping up, knowing the single-target burst from Ursa and Windranger is less effective against a full team. For this pair to succeed, they must dominate their lanes and snowball so hard that their combined burst can't be countered, but they don't provide each other much help to make that happen.
