Venomancer + Warlock

Why this works

Picking both Venomancer and Warlock often puts your team in a position of having too much of the same thing. Both heroes excel at applying area-of-effect pressure and damage over time, but they lack the burst or lockdown needed to secure kills. Warlock’s Fatal Bonds is most effective when combined with high-damage nukes to multiply its effect, which Venomancer's slow-ticking poisons don't provide. This leaves you with two heroes who can soften up an entire team but struggle to actually bring anyone down, allowing enemies to disengage and recover.

This dynamic forces your cores to supply all of the team's catch and control. In teamfights, you can stack up a lot of AoE damage with Poison Nova and Chaotic Offering, but opponents are rarely held in place long enough for it to be lethal. Enemies can often survive the initial onslaught and then turn the fight, especially once they have BKBs or team-wide defensive items like a Pipe of Insight. The duo is also very immobile and slow, making them an easy target for aggressive lineups that can close the distance and ignore the gradual damage.
