Underlord vs Dawnbreaker

How this matchup plays

Fighting inside a Pit of Malice is usually a death sentence, but Dawnbreaker has an unusual answer. While the root from Underlord's pit will hold her in place, it won't interrupt her Starbreaker. This means she can still complete all her swings and land the stun, dealing her full combo to anyone she can reach even while she's disabled. Underlord can lock her down, but he can't stop her from fighting back immediately. At the same time, his Atrophy Aura constantly reduces the physical damage from her swings and attacks, softening her impact considerably.

This trade-off makes for a very even matchup across the game. Dawnbreaker can't easily run over Underlord in fights, and Underlord can't completely neutralize her dive. Both heroes also bring a global presence to their teams with Solar Guardian and Fiend's Gate, so they often end up answering each other's map-wide movements rather than clashing head-on. The game is less about one hero directly countering the other and more about which one can better leverage their abilities to create advantages for the rest of their team.
