Underlord vs Invoker

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map often comes down to who can react faster. Underlord's Dark Rift allows his entire team to apply pressure or escape danger, creating a huge strategic advantage. Invoker, however, has excellent tools to counter this plan. A well-timed Sun Strike can punish a gank happening on the other side of the map, turning a numbers advantage into an even trade. Closer up, spells like Tornado or Deafening Blast can cancel the Dark Rift channel entirely, leaving Underlord and his team stranded. Underlord himself is a tough target for Invoker, able to soak up spells and reduce his damage with Atrophy Aura.

The game becomes a battle of global influence. Underlord's team wants to constantly split the map, forcing Invoker to choose where to commit his powerful, long-cooldown spells. A successful Dark Rift play onto a tower can secure an objective before Invoker can properly respond. On the other side, the Invoker player looks to dictate the tempo with pickoffs, using his spell combinations to eliminate key targets before Underlord can organize a save. It often comes down to which team better executes its map-wide strategy, making for a very balanced contest.
