Underlord vs Juggernaut

How this matchup plays

Thinking about picking Underlord for area control gets a lot riskier when Juggernaut is in the game. The main reason is Blade Fury, which dismantles Underlord's whole plan. Juggernaut can spin to cleanse the damage reduction from Atrophy Aura and simply walk out of Pit of Malice, ignoring the root entirely. Underlord is meant to lock down and weaken enemy cores, but against Juggernaut he can’t do either of those things on his own. It makes his signature spells feel useless whenever Juggernaut decides to fight.

This problem gets worse for Underlord as the game progresses. Lacking any hard stun or escape mechanism, he makes for an ideal Omnislash target. Juggernaut can often use his ultimate to remove Underlord from a fight before it even begins. As the Underlord player, you're forced into a reactive role, buying defensive items and hoping your teammates have enough lockdown for Juggernaut. Meanwhile, the Juggernaut player has the freedom to split push or join fights, knowing Underlord can’t reliably stop him.
