How this matchup plays

Pushing out a lane against Magnus often feels safe for Underlord. Firestorm clears waves quickly, building an economic lead while making it difficult for melee heroes to approach. Atrophy Aura further cuts into the physical damage of anyone Magnus might Empower, weakening his teamfight setup. If Magnus tries to Skewer Underlord, he’s often too tanky to kill, and the repositioning doesn't guarantee a fight win. Underlord's kit is built to grind down enemies and control space, which directly clashes with Magnus's goal of finding one decisive moment.

The game becomes a contest of tempo. Underlord's team can use Fiend's Gate to split the map and take objectives, forcing Magnus to react.
