Magnus is a premier initiator whose Reverse Polarity pulls and stuns an entire team into one spot, with Skewer and Empower for control and damage amp. He's strong into immobile, clumpable heroes: Timbersaw, Tinker and Nature's Prophet get RP'd and deleted. Magnus is countered by BKB-reliant scalers and sustain who survive his combo: Wraith King and Spectre out-tank or out-scale, while Tidehunter and Phoenix bring competing AoE. Draft tip: Magnus is a game-winning teamfight initiator into grouped drafts; his RP is undercut by BKB, spread-out positioning, and tanky hard-carries.

Magnus's Reverse Polarity is the ultimate AoE setup — a whole team stunned and clumped — and Empower amplifies a cleave carry's damage. He pairs best with cleave and AoE-burst cores: Wraith King and Necrophos erase everything RP'd, while Phoenix Supernovas onto the clump. An Empower'd Sven or Lifestealer behind RP is lethal. Give Magnus a cleave carry and one Reverse Polarity wins the game outright.
