Underlord vs Storm Spirit

How this matchup plays

Flying across the screen with Ball Lightning feels terrible when Underlord is on the other team. Any part of Storm Spirit's path that crosses a Pit of Malice will instantly root him, breaking his mobility and leaving him completely stranded. This single interaction cripples Storm's ability to initiate, chase, or escape. On top of that, Atrophy Aura significantly reduces the damage Storm can deal with his auto-attacks between spells, making it much harder for him to burst down any target standing near Underlord, including Underlord himself.

This dynamic forces Storm Spirit to play a much more passive game. He has to wait for Pit of Malice to be on cooldown or invest heavily into a Black King Bar much earlier than he'd want to. Underlord can simply group with his team, using Pit of Malice defensively to save allies from Storm's ganks or offensively to lock him down. Because Underlord naturally builds tanky items, he's not a viable target for Storm to jump on, effectively creating a safe zone around himself that Storm can't easily breach.
