Alchemist vs Beastmaster

How this matchup plays

Trying to build early pressure with summons is often counter-productive against an Alchemist. All of Beastmaster's tools for map control, like his Boar or dominated creeps, become a source of accelerated farm. Alchemist can clear them out easily with Acid Spray, getting bonus gold from Greevil's Greed in the process. When Beastmaster does try for a kill with Primal Roar, a timely Chemical Rage provides more than enough regeneration to survive the follow-up damage. Instead of creating space, Beastmaster’s units end up fueling the enemy’s snowball.

This dynamic forces Beastmaster into a difficult position. His typical game plan of pushing down towers with a zoo gets stalled out, as Alchemist farms the waves and the summons simultaneously. Before Beastmaster can establish a meaningful map advantage, Alchemist is already showing up to fights with a major item lead. From there, Alchemist can dictate the pace of the game, tanking through Beastmaster's initiation and running his team over. The window for Beastmaster to be effective closes much faster than it normally would.
