Alchemist vs Doom

How this matchup plays

Expecting Doom's ultimate to solve the Alchemist problem often leads to disappointment. While a well-timed Doom can certainly shut Alchemist down in a fight, the matchup is fundamentally a race to control the game. Both heroes rely on abilities that accelerate their farm—Alchemist with Greevil's Greed and Doom with Devour. The real conflict isn't a direct ability-for-ability counter, but rather a contest of speed. Alchemist aims to create an item lead so large that by the time teams are clashing, the single-target lockdown from Doom isn't enough to stop his team's momentum.

Success for Doom's team means actively invading and finding Alchemist to slow his farm. A few early kills can severely delay Alchemist's critical item timings. Failure to do so gives Alchemist the space to reach a point where he's too strong for Doom's team to handle. Because Doom's ultimate has a significant cooldown, Alchemist can leverage those windows to force objectives or fights.
