Doom is a tanky offlane core whose ultimate, Doom, silences and disables a key hero for a brutally long time, removing them from the fight entirely. He's strong into immobile heroes who rely on one big ability: Timbersaw, Mars and Gyrocopter get Doomed out of the game. Doom is countered by scalers and clones that don't care about a single disable: Spectre out-scales, Meepo brings too many bodies, and Wraith King or Lone Druid out-tank him. Draft tip: Doom is a premium single-target shutdown into ability-reliant drafts; he's weaker into illusion/summon comps and late-game hard-carries.

Doom removes the enemy's most important hero from a fight for a brutally long time — his team just needs to win the resulting man-advantage. He pairs best with snowball cores and pickoff: Spectre and Wraith King cash in the man-advantage, while Night Stalker and Meepo crash onto whoever isn't Doomed. Give Doom a team that punishes a 5v4 and one well-timed Doom on the enemy carry wins the fight.
