Alchemist vs Lion

How this matchup plays

Seeing Lion's kit full of disables might make you think he shuts Alchemist down easily, but it's rarely that simple. Lion's multiple stuns and Mana Drain can certainly disrupt Alchemist's farming and spellcasting. A well-timed Hex is particularly strong, as it prevents Alchemist from activating Chemical Rage to save himself. However, Chemical Rage itself provides enough regeneration and status resistance to survive the initial burst if it's already active. Alchemist can often live through Lion’s full combo and then turn the fight around with his superior sustain and damage.

This matchup becomes a race. Alchemist uses Greevil's Greed to rush items like a Black King Bar or Lotus Orb, which can completely negate Lion's solo threat. A farmed Alchemist will often wait for Hex to be used on a teammate before fully committing to a fight. Lion’s goal is to do the opposite: he needs to find Alchemist early and repeatedly, using his disables and Finger of Death to punish greed and slow down the farm with his team's help. If Alchemist hits his item timings, Lion’s role shifts from hunter to pure controller, hoping to lock him down for allies to finish.
