Alchemist vs Luna

How this matchup plays

Trading farm across the map, both these heroes are trying to hit their item timings as fast as possible. Alchemist relies on Greevil's Greed to build a massive net worth lead, hoping to overwhelm Luna with items. His combination of Acid Spray and Unstable Concoction can absolutely delete a fragile hero like Luna if he gets the jump. However, Luna is one of the few carries who can somewhat keep pace with Alchemist's farm thanks to Moon Glaives. Furthermore, her Lucent Beam can interrupt his stun channel from a safe distance, and a full Eclipse has enough magical burst to kill Alchemist if he’s caught without Chemical Rage active.

This matchup often comes down to a race. Alchemist wants to hit his peak power spike and force fights before Luna gets her own core items online. He will look for pickoffs on an isolated Luna. Luna, by contrast, wants to survive that initial timing and group with her team. She excels in five-on-five engagements where her Moon Glaives can bounce freely, punishing Alchemist for standing near his allies. The outcome rarely depends on the heroes alone, but on which team can better enable their carry's preferred game plan and control the tempo of the mid-game.
