Alchemist vs Sniper

How this matchup plays

Deciding whether Alchemist can deal with a Sniper pick often comes down to your team's setup. Alchemist has the tools to kill him, but it's never simple. Charging up Unstable Concoction and running at Sniper is the basic plan, but it's easily disrupted. A well-placed Shrapnel can slow the approach to a crawl, letting Sniper's team collapse or allowing him to simply walk away while pelting Alchemist from a distance. If Alchemist can't secure the kill quickly, the chase often ends with him taking more damage than he deals, even with Chemical Rage active.

Later in the game, the dynamic revolves entirely around initiation. An Alchemist with a Blink Dagger or Shadow Blade can bypass the vision game and get a full-duration stun. Without those items, he struggles to get in range before Sniper can react or use Assassinate. For Sniper, the goal is to play on the edge of the fight, forcing Alchemist to overextend into danger. The fight is often decided by which hero gets the jump, making it a very execution-dependent and even exchange where neither feels consistently advantaged.
